Spreading some love...

I was watching Celebrity Apprentice earlier today while doing some work.

Next thing I knew I had spent the last 30 minutes reading the Wikipedia page about Illusionist Penn Jillette and google image searching Lisa Rinna's lips.

This then lead to 30 minutes of google image searching what Lisa Rinna looked like in the 80's and reading more about Penn Jillette's atheist beliefs.

Needless to say that I am a little bit behind on my to-do list today.

I am still trying to catch up with some missed blog posts this past weekend so I can complete the 'Story of My Life' blog challenge.

I love this quote (as well as this artist) so much and think that it is such a beautiful reminder that there is always good present in bad situations. Most of us forget that and it is always good to be reminded :)

Sunday - Publicly profess your love and devotion for a blogger.

One of my favorite blogs is 'Life of Bon.' Bonnie is hilarious, seems like a really great person and does a lot of fun things on her blog 

(that is if you are like me and consider having a book club on your blog to be fun).

Bonnie likes to create corpses in the high school English classes she teaches, paints her living room walls bright green and has a pretty funny husband.

So you should definitely check her out.

Alright everyone, I have a lot of guacamole and wine to drink. My husband just finished up his third law school final (only one to go) and we need to celebrate!

High Five For Friday!

Howdy Everyone! Today I am linking up with Lauren from 'My Grey Desk' blog and telling you about the five things I am excited about this Friday.

/one/

Tonight we are going to hang out with friends at a bar/restaurant and watch some basketball. We have been cooped up in the house all week, so we are excited to get out, he is excited to drink and I am excited to pretend to watch basketball.

/two/

My college basketball bracket is doing awesome so far. 

I am only going to talk about it this once, I swear (maybe twice). 

I am not going to pretend to be that 'cool girl' who knows about basketball and March Madness and what not. I don't know about it really and I am not super interested, but I am competitive and this really stimulates the urge I have to beat my husband at all games.

So far, I am kicking his butt. Hard.

I made this banana bread yesterday and it is super awesome.

It is oil free, sugar free and I made it using a mixture of oat and whole wheat flour. It is delicious, really moist and not that sweet (it uses the dates and bananas for sweetness). 

When you split the loaf into eight slices, only 193 calories per slice.

(If you make the recipe, I made the following changes ... 

* Original called for 2 cups whole wheat flour, I did 1.5 cups whole wheat flour, .5 cups oat flour;

* Original called for 1 tsp cinnamon, I did 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice instead;

* Original called for 2 cups mashed bananas, I only had enough bananas on hand for 1.25 cups mashed, so I added organic unsweetened applesauce for the other .75 of a cup;

* I also added 1 tsp vanilla just because I am wild like that)

We finished Downton Abbey season 2 last night. 

I laughed, I cried, I cheered.

We went running today for the first time since the marathon. We only went two miles, but it was good to get everything moving. I am still surprisingly sore in odd places (i.e. tops of my feet) and felt tired even after two miles. 

So that's all the awesomeness I got for now, but can I just talk about one thing I am super bummed about?? 

Who the hell at ABC decided to cancel Bachelor Pad??

In my superior to the execs at ABC's opinion, it was the best reality/game/dating show ever! It had everything I wanted!

Drama, romance, comedy!

It was the Shakespeare of our time. 

I literally gasped out loud when I read about the cancellation today. I had been looking forward to it all year and now....it's not going to happen. 

I need to make a petition.

General Updates

A few things...

1) Thanks so much to everyone who helped me decide on a ring. We seem to share the same taste as most of you liked my favorite ring as well.

In a few weeks I am going to be waving my hand all in the air and making all the boys sad that I am taken. 

2) I have been slowly updating/fixing up my blog. I am learning html code and what-not for it, which is totally not my thing, so it is a little slow going at times. Keep your eyes peeled for small changes that I introduce over the next few weeks. 

Something that I have finally finished is my 'About Me' and '52 in 2012' sections at the top of the blog. 

If you want to learn more about me, check out the 'About Me' section for some facts about me and my family. 

I also created a '52 in 2012' tab which has 52 things I want to accomplish in 2012. Since I am just getting this list up and going this week, I have to do double-time for a few weeks to get caught up. This week I am hoping to accomplish...#44 & #51.

3) Over the past three days, I have watched Season 1&2 of 'Toddlers & Tiara.' 

(Curse you Netflix!!)

Besides having my husband think less of me because of this, I have also had my brain start to ooze out of my ear. This here is an actual quote from an episode today...

Pageant Director (talking to camera): "For the swimsuit competition we have girls in both one and two piece bathing suits. We don't allow thongs because really none of them would be able to pull it off. You really need to have a perfect body for a thong and none of these girls have that."

Cue head explosion and me staring jaw-dropped at my computer screen. 

Yet I still watched another five episodes, hating myself every minute of it, yet loving it. 

Btw...doesn't TLC have the best reality TV shows? Can I get a what, what for any fans of 'Sister Wives?'

4) Tomorrow is the last day of my spring cleaning sale, so head on over to each of my stores to check out what I've got going on. I have been adding new items like a mad woman, and some of them are pretty darn awesome!
